2nd Transnational Partnership Meeting, Izmir

In May 2024 we held our 2nd transnational partnership meeting with colleagues Gurhan Aktas, @Elif Uzgoren, Christel Maenen Yvonne Farrand, Dr Noëlle O'Connor, Kateryna Skyba, @Lesia Steblo on our Inspire project working with refugees and internally displaced people on tourism start ups in Ukraine, Turkiye, Ireland, Belgium and Croatia with Technological University of the Shannon Hogeschool PXL Dokuz Eylul University PAR University of Applied Sciences Businet network @Khmelnytskyi National University and @DVA. Alex Yu Marko Turk, PhD Allan Lawrence

At the meeting we presented our literature reviews, policy document reviews and our interview and primary data collection. The interviews are held with NGOs, internally displaced people, refugees and people in refugee like situations, academics and SMEs, with data collected from Türkiye, Ukraine, Ireland, Belgium and Croatia. We heard a range of case studies, going from IDPs in Ukraine who had opened bakeries, started small tourism businesses in Izmir and were planning new ventures in Ireland.
